These are some of the most common/popular symbols found in the Irish/Celtic culture. The harp, the shamrock, the Celtic knot and the infamous Claddagh ring.
The harp appears on many things from our coins, our uniforms or a pint of the black stuff.
The Claddagh ring has three elements embroiled into one, the hands are for friendship, the heart is for love and the crown represents loyalty.
The Shamrock is probably Ireland’s most famous symbol. Originally used by Saint Patrick to represent the Holy Trinity, it is nowadays associated with bringing luck.
The Celtic knot is a popular symbol in Irish Art and like the shamrock represents the Holy Trinity.
